Language Settings: Working in Your Native Language

🎯 Why This Matters

Cannabis operations often employ multilingual teams. Training everyone in a single language slows onboarding and increases errors. GrowerIQ's language support helps you:

  • Eliminate language barriers - Staff work in their native language from day one
  • Reduce training time - Familiar terminology means faster onboarding
  • Prevent costly mistakes - Clear instructions in native language reduce errors
  • Support diverse teams - Accommodate staff from different backgrounds

⚙️ Choosing Your Language (Web)

Select your language when you first navigate to GrowerIQ - no account setup required.

  1. Navigate to your GrowerIQ URL (your organization's web address)
  2. See the language picker - flags and language names appear on the welcome screen
  3. Click your preferred language
  4. You're routed to the login page in your selected language

The entire application loads in your chosen language. To switch languages later, navigate back to the root URL and select a different language.

📱 Changing Language on the Scanner

Switch languages instantly on the mobile scanner without restarting the app.

  1. Tap the menu icon (three lines) in the top-left corner
  2. The Settings Drawer slides open from the left
  3. Find the Language section with flag buttons
  4. Tap your preferred language - it highlights immediately

The scanner switches instantly - no restart needed. Your preference is saved securely on the device, so you'll see your language every time you open the app.

💡 Shared Devices

On shared scanners, tap the menu icon and select your language at the start of your shift. The change takes effect immediately.

📊 Data Tables and Filters

Every part of the interface is translated - including data tables, filters, and sorting options.

When you change your language, you'll see translations for:

  • Column headers in all data grids
  • Filter options (Contains, Equals, Greater than, etc.)
  • Sort labels (Ascending, Descending)
  • Pagination (Page 1 of 10, Rows per page)
  • Context menus (Copy, Export, Pin column)

This means your team can filter and sort data using familiar terms in their native language.

🏷️ Cultivation Terminology

Industry-specific terms are translated to match local conventions.

GrowerIQ translates cannabis-specific terminology including:

  • Growth stages (Propagation, Vegetation, Flowering, etc.)
  • Activity types (Fertigation, Defoliation, Harvest)
  • Quality statuses (Passed, Failed, Pending Review)
  • Inventory categories (Flower, Extract, Edible)

Translations use industry-standard terminology for each region, so your team sees the terms they're already familiar with.

✨ Tips for Multilingual Teams

  • Set language during onboarding - Help new staff configure their language preference on day one
  • Use shared device handoff - Train staff to switch language when taking over a scanner
  • Reports stay consistent - Exported reports use the language of the user who generated them
  • Audit trails are preserved - Activity logs record what happened regardless of display language

❓ Common Questions

Does changing my language affect other users?

No. Language is a personal preference saved to your user account. Each team member can work in their own language.

Are regulatory reports affected by language settings?

No. Compliance reports are generated in the format required by your regulator, regardless of your display language preference.

What if I see untranslated text?

Occasionally, new features may appear in English before translations are complete. Contact support if you notice missing translations - we prioritize completing them.
